From ad6e2e82a9e2f7e6f6db99a7be474a1f2f2739bf Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: George Marques Date: Thu, 27 Jan 2022 11:34:33 -0300 Subject: GDScript: Consolidate behavior for assigning enum types This makes sure that assigning values to enum-typed variables are consistent. Same enum is always valid, different enum is always invalid (without casting) and assigning `int` creates a warning if there is no casting. There are new test cases to ensure this behavior doesn't break in the future. --- doc/classes/ProjectSettings.xml | 2 + modules/gdscript/gdscript_analyzer.cpp | 46 ++++++++++++---------- modules/gdscript/gdscript_analyzer.h | 2 +- modules/gdscript/gdscript_compiler.cpp | 1 - modules/gdscript/gdscript_editor.cpp | 2 +- modules/gdscript/gdscript_parser.cpp | 2 - modules/gdscript/gdscript_parser.h | 5 +-- modules/gdscript/gdscript_warning.cpp | 4 ++ modules/gdscript/gdscript_warning.h | 1 + .../enum_class_var_assign_with_wrong_enum_type.gd | 10 +++++ .../enum_class_var_assign_with_wrong_enum_type.out | 2 + .../enum_class_var_init_with_wrong_enum_type.gd | 8 ++++ .../enum_class_var_init_with_wrong_enum_type.out | 2 + .../enum_local_var_assign_with_wrong_enum_type.gd | 8 ++++ .../enum_local_var_assign_with_wrong_enum_type.out | 2 + .../enum_local_var_init_with_wrong_enum_type.gd | 6 +++ .../enum_local_var_init_with_wrong_enum_type.out | 2 + .../features/enum_assign_enum_to_int_typed_var.gd | 13 ++++++ .../features/enum_assign_enum_to_int_typed_var.out | 5 +++ .../features/enum_assign_int_cast_to_same_enum.gd | 13 ++++++ .../features/enum_assign_int_cast_to_same_enum.out | 5 +++ .../enum_assign_other_enum_cast_to_same_enum.gd | 14 +++++++ .../enum_assign_other_enum_cast_to_same_enum.out | 5 +++ .../analyzer/features/enum_assign_same_enum.gd | 13 ++++++ .../analyzer/features/enum_assign_same_enum.out | 5 +++ .../warnings/enum_assign_int_without_casting.gd | 15 +++++++ .../warnings/enum_assign_int_without_casting.out | 21 ++++++++++ 27 files changed, 185 insertions(+), 29 deletions(-) create mode 100644 modules/gdscript/tests/scripts/analyzer/errors/enum_class_var_assign_with_wrong_enum_type.gd create mode 100644 modules/gdscript/tests/scripts/analyzer/errors/enum_class_var_assign_with_wrong_enum_type.out create mode 100644 modules/gdscript/tests/scripts/analyzer/errors/enum_class_var_init_with_wrong_enum_type.gd create mode 100644 modules/gdscript/tests/scripts/analyzer/errors/enum_class_var_init_with_wrong_enum_type.out create mode 100644 modules/gdscript/tests/scripts/analyzer/errors/enum_local_var_assign_with_wrong_enum_type.gd create mode 100644 modules/gdscript/tests/scripts/analyzer/errors/enum_local_var_assign_with_wrong_enum_type.out create mode 100644 modules/gdscript/tests/scripts/analyzer/errors/enum_local_var_init_with_wrong_enum_type.gd create mode 100644 modules/gdscript/tests/scripts/analyzer/errors/enum_local_var_init_with_wrong_enum_type.out create mode 100644 modules/gdscript/tests/scripts/analyzer/features/enum_assign_enum_to_int_typed_var.gd create mode 100644 modules/gdscript/tests/scripts/analyzer/features/enum_assign_enum_to_int_typed_var.out create mode 100644 modules/gdscript/tests/scripts/analyzer/features/enum_assign_int_cast_to_same_enum.gd create mode 100644 modules/gdscript/tests/scripts/analyzer/features/enum_assign_int_cast_to_same_enum.out create mode 100644 modules/gdscript/tests/scripts/analyzer/features/enum_assign_other_enum_cast_to_same_enum.gd create mode 100644 modules/gdscript/tests/scripts/analyzer/features/enum_assign_other_enum_cast_to_same_enum.out create mode 100644 modules/gdscript/tests/scripts/analyzer/features/enum_assign_same_enum.gd create mode 100644 modules/gdscript/tests/scripts/analyzer/features/enum_assign_same_enum.out create mode 100644 modules/gdscript/tests/scripts/parser/warnings/enum_assign_int_without_casting.gd create mode 100644 modules/gdscript/tests/scripts/parser/warnings/enum_assign_int_without_casting.out diff --git a/doc/classes/ProjectSettings.xml b/doc/classes/ProjectSettings.xml index bcd576d7ab..25106c3154 100644 --- a/doc/classes/ProjectSettings.xml +++ b/doc/classes/ProjectSettings.xml @@ -356,6 +356,8 @@ If
true
, enables warnings when a ternary operator may emit values with incompatible types. + + If
true
, enables warnings when dividing an integer by another integer (the decimal part will be discarded). diff --git a/modules/gdscript/gdscript_analyzer.cpp b/modules/gdscript/gdscript_analyzer.cpp index 0d295c3a51..d59a5e55d6 100644 --- a/modules/gdscript/gdscript_analyzer.cpp +++ b/modules/gdscript/gdscript_analyzer.cpp @@ -650,9 +650,9 @@ void GDScriptAnalyzer::resolve_class_interface(GDScriptParser::ClassNode *p_clas datatype = specified_type;
