2021-07-18Optimize StringName usagereduz
* Added a new macro SNAME() that constructs and caches a local stringname. * Subsequent usages use the cached version. * Since these use a global static variable, a second refcounter of static usages need to be kept for cleanup time. * Replaced all theme usages by this new macro. * Replace all signal emission usages by this new macro. * Replace all call_deferred usages by this new macro. This is part of ongoing work to optimize GUI and the editor.

2021-05-03Merge pull request #48205 from Faless/net/4.x_url_parsingFabio Alessandrelli
[Net] Implement String::parse_url for parsing URLs.
2021-04-27Core: Drop custom `copymem`/`zeromem` definesRémi Verschelde
We've been using standard C library functions `memcpy`/`memset` for these since 2016 with 67f65f66391327b2967a20a89c3627e1dd6e84eb. There was still the possibility for third-party platform ports to override the definitions with a custom header, but this doesn't seem useful anymore.
2021-04-26[Net] Implement String::parse_url for parsing URLs.Fabio Alessandrelli
Splits the URL into (scheme, host, port, path). Supports both literal IPv4 and IPv6. Strip credentials when present (e.g. http://user:pass@example.com/). Use that function in both HTTPRequest and WebSocketClient.

2021-02-27[Net] Better EOF handling in HTTPRequest.Fabio Alessandrelli
This fix request_completed being emitted two times, the first with the result, the second as a failure when retrieving responses served with read-until-EOF.
2021-02-18Modernize atomicsPedro J. Estébanez
- Based on C++11's `atomic` - Reworked `SafeRefCount` (based on the rewrite by @hpvb) - Replaced free atomic functions by the new `SafeNumeric<T>` - Replaced wrong cases of `volatile bool` by the new `SafeFlag` - Platform-specific implementations no longer needed Co-authored-by: Hein-Pieter van Braam-Stewart <hp@tmm.cx>
2021-02-09Initialize class variables with default values in scene/ [2/2]Rafał Mikrut
2021-01-29Modernize ThreadPedro J. Estébanez
- Based on C++11's `thread` and `thread_local` - No more need to allocate-deallocate or check for null - No pointer anymore, just a member variable - Platform-specific implementations no longer needed (except for the few cases of non-portable functions) - Simpler for `NO_THREADS` - Thread ids are now the same across platforms (main is 1; others follow)
2021-01-01Update copyright statements to 2021Rémi Verschelde
Happy new year to the wonderful Godot community! 2020 has been a tough year for most of us personally, but a good year for Godot development nonetheless with a huge amount of work done towards Godot 4.0 and great improvements backported to the long-lived 3.2 branch. We've had close to 400 contributors to engine code this year, authoring near 7,000 commit! (And that's only for the `master` branch and for the engine code, there's a lot more when counting docs, demos and other first-party repos.) Here's to a great year 2021 for all Godot users 🎆
2020-11-07Reorganized core/ directory, it was too fatty alreadyreduz
-Removed FuncRef, since Callable makes it obsolete -Removed int_types.h as its obsolete in c++11+ -Changed color names code

2020-05-14Style: Enforce braces around if blocks and loopsRémi Verschelde
Using clang-tidy's `readability-braces-around-statements`. https://clang.llvm.org/extra/clang-tidy/checks/readability-braces-around-statements.html
2020-05-14Style: Enforce separation line between function definitionsRémi Verschelde
I couldn't find a tool that enforces it, so I went the manual route: ``` find -name "thirdparty" -prune \ -o -name "*.cpp" -o -name "*.h" -o -name "*.m" -o -name "*.mm" \ -o -name "*.glsl" > files perl -0777 -pi -e 's/\n}\n([^#])/\n}\n\n\1/g' $(cat files) misc/scripts/fix_style.sh -c ``` This adds a newline after all `}` on the first column, unless they are followed by `#` (typically `#endif`). This leads to having lots of places with two lines between function/class definitions, but clang-format then fixes it as we enforce max one line of separation. This doesn't fix potential occurrences of function definitions which are indented (e.g. for a helper class defined in a .cpp), but it's better than nothing. Also can't be made to run easily on CI/hooks so we'll have to be careful with new code. Part of #33027.
2020-05-14Style: clang-format: Disable KeepEmptyLinesAtTheStartOfBlocksRémi Verschelde
Which means that reduz' beloved style which we all became used to will now be changed automatically to remove the first empty line. This makes us lean closer to 1TBS (the one true brace style) instead of hybridating it with some Allman-inspired spacing. There's still the case of braces around single-statement blocks that needs to be addressed (but clang-format can't help with that, but clang-tidy may if we agree about it). Part of #33027.

2020-02-28Signals: Port connect calls to use callable_mpRémi Verschelde
Remove now unnecessary bindings of signal callbacks in the public API. There might be some false positives that need rebinding if they were meant to be public. No regular expressions were harmed in the making of this commit. (Nah, just kidding.)
2020-02-26Disconnect while downloadingZak
Previously if a disconnect occured while downloading a non recoverable error was displayed. This PR attempts to fix this by making sure `request_completed` signal is emitted with an `STATUS_CONNECTION_ERROR` response code.
2020-02-20Reworked signal connection system, added support for Callable and Signal ↵Juan Linietsky
objects and made them default.
2020-02-18PoolVector is gone, replaced by VectorJuan Linietsky
Typed `PoolTypeArray` types are now renamed `PackedTypeArray` and are sugar for `Vector<Type>`.
2020-01-01Update copyright statements to 2020Rémi Verschelde
Happy new year to the wonderful Godot community! We're starting a new decade with a well-established, non-profit, free and open source game engine, and tons of further improvements in the pipeline from hundreds of contributors. Godot will keep getting better, and we're looking forward to all the games that the community will keep developing and releasing with it.
2019-11-24Add download_chunk_size property to HTTPRequest.Fabio Alessandrelli
This allows setting the `read_chunk_size` of the internal HTTPClient. This is important to reduce the allocation overhead and number of file writes when downloading large files, allowing for better download speed.

2019-07-01Fix HTTPRequest status checks.Fabio Alessandrelli
HTTPRequest used to have its own `status` variable but it would never be updated since the status of the client would be used instead. This caused potential crashes in some edge cases. The `status` variable is now removed, and the client status is used in checks instead.

2018-09-12Fix non chunked HTTP reading till eof.Fabio Alessandrelli
2018-07-04Fix CORS problems due to added headers on JS targetGagaPete
Before this change, missing User-Agent and Accept headers were automatically added on all platforms. Setting the User-Agent header forces the browser to do a CORS preflight (see 1) which fails if the HTTP endpoint is not configured appropriate. It's not neccesary to set either header as the browser sets them and so this commit disables that functionality on the JS target. 1: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTTP/CORS#Simple_requests
2018-02-23Refactor version macros and fix related bugsRémi Verschelde
The previous logic with VERSION_MKSTRING was a bit unwieldy, so there were several places hardcoding their own variant of the version string, potentially with bugs (e.g. forgetting the patch number when defined). The new logic defines: - VERSION_BRANCH, the main 'major.minor' version (e.g. 3.1) - VERSION_NUMBER, which can be 'major.minor' or 'major.minor.patch', depending on whether the latter is defined (e.g. 3.1.4) - VERSION_FULL_CONFIG, which contains the version status (e.g. stable) and the module-specific suffix (e.g. mono) - VERSION_FULL_BUILD, same as above but with build/reference name (e.g. official, custom_build, mageia, etc.) Note: Slight change here, as the previous format had the build name *before* the module-specific suffix; now it's after - VERSION_FULL_NAME, same as before, so VERSION_FULL_BUILD prefixed with "Godot v" for readability Bugs fixed thanks to that: - Export templates version matching now properly takes VERSION_PATCH into account by relying on VERSION_FULL_CONFIG. - ClassDB hash no longer takes the build name into account, but limits itself to VERSION_FULL_CONFIG (build name is cosmetic, not relevant for the API hash). - Docs XML no longer hardcode the VERSION_STATUS, this was annoying. - Small cleanup in Windows .rc file thanks to new macros.
2018-01-12Bind many more properties to scriptsBojidar Marinov
Notable potentially breaking changes: - PROPERTY_USAGE_NOEDITOR is now PROPERTY_USAGE_STORAGE | PROPERTY_USAGE_NETWORK, without PROPERTY_USAGE_INTERNAL - Some properties were renamed, and sometimes even shadowed by new ones - New getter methods (some virtual) were added
2018-01-05Add missing copyright headers and fix formattingRémi Verschelde
Using `misc/scripts/fix_headers.py` on all Godot files. Some missing header guards were added, and the header inclusion order was fixed in the Bullet module.
